The Ladysmith Maritime Society is a non-profit charitable organization that has been in continuous operation since 1985
We are delighted to be celebrating 40 years of serving the community with maritime heritage, marine life education, and community events!
The purpose of the Ladysmith Maritime Society is to:
- Protect and promote Ladysmith’s maritime heritage, including
- Fostering expertise in the construction, maintenance, and restoration of heritage boats
- Promoting tourism activity in Ladysmith
- Provide services for heritage and other vessels, including heritage vessels owned by the Society
- Operate as a non-profit society under the BC Society Act
- Operate as a registered charity recognized by the Government of Canada
- Hold and operate properties and facilities of the Society
The Society offers:
- Harbour tours during the summer season
- An annual Sealife Celebration that attracts more than 1000 visitors
- Family-friendly spring and summer events at no cost to the public
- Events throughout the year as Ladysmith Maritime Society partners with local marinas
The Ladysmith Maritime Society has a proven track record since July 1985 of operating a highly successful non-profit charitable society.
The Directors, numerous LMS members, and volunteers are actively involved in the day-to-day activities of making the Ladysmith Maritime Society a success.
